How does it work?

folds location on front First measure all four sites; three times would be best, but once is enough. Then enter your values into the apropriate fields and klick the Calculate button. The result will be displayed.

What if no result is displayed?

We need one value in each line at least. If you don't, the calculator ignores your input.

The Locations

1) Scapula fold: A diagonal fold on the back, at the lower edge of the scapula. Angle of inclination should be 45°, clockwise.
2) Chest fold: A diagonal fold at the outer pectoralis, in the midlle between nipple and axilla.
3) Axilla fold: A vertical fold at the point of intersection from axilla and nipple.

The formula:

S = sum of all folds
A = age in years
Bodyfat [%] = 0.27784*S - 0.00053*(S²) + 0.12437*A - 3.28791
