How does it work?

location of folds on front First measure all three sites; three times would be best, but once is enough. Then enter your values into the apropriate fields and klick the Calculate button. The result will be displayed.

What if no result is displayed?

We need one value in each line at least. If you did not, the calculator ignores your input.

The locations:

1) Scapula fold: A diagonal fold on the back, at the lower edge of the scapula. Angle of inclination should be 45°, clockwise.
2) Triceps fold: A vertical fold at mid of the upper arms backside.
3) Waist fold: A vertical fold an inch right from the navel. location of folds on back

The formula:

S = Sum of all three folds average
d = 1.0982 - 0.000815*S + 0.0000084*S²
Bodyfat [%] = 495 / d - 450
